| Family | Powertrain (P) |
Typical symptoms
Metallic noise from the engine
Reduced power for protection
Message to switch off the engine

Frequently asked questions
What does code P0522 mean?
Engine oil pressure too low. The sensor reports oil pressure below the safety minimum. If the reading is true, every running minute counts: without pressure the bearings are destroyed quickly.
Can I keep driving with code P0522 active?

How do you fix code P0522?
With the red light on, switch off and check the level. If the level is fine, do not restart: the test must be done with a mechanical gauge, the only way to know whether pressure is genuinely low or the sensor is lying. Driving on genuinely low pressure means rebuilding the engine.
