Flex and The Genius are the two programmers we recommend most often to workshops: Flex is a software tool with an interface that works with a PC in OBD, Bench and Boot; The Genius is a stand-alone tool with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, built-in battery and OBD, Bench and Open modes. The choice depends on how you work, not on which one is “the best”.

Up-to-date prices and available versions are on the shop pages: below you find the Flex one. The price of The Genius refers to the tool only, without software.
When to choose Flex
- You already work with a PC in the workshop and want a tool that relies on it.
- You need both engine ECUs and automatic gearboxes: there are ECU, TCU and Complete packages.
- You want to record live data to understand a problem and optimise the work.
- You meet protected ECUs: the Korhex add-on reaches the microcontroller from a single contact point.
When to choose The Genius
- You want a stand-alone tool you can also use away from the workshop, with a battery and no PC.
- You prefer a touchscreen and an interface that guides beginners too.
- You already work with Dimsport products and want to stay in the same ecosystem.
- You want the coverage of New Genius and New Trasdata combined in one device.
After the purchase: where you get the files
The tool reads and writes, but you need modified files. The file service gives you those for the car on the lift: how it works is in file service for workshops, and the full path to get started is in how to start remapping in the workshop. For those who already have the equipment, access is at mastertuningfile.com.
A note on use
Both are professional tools. Functions that touch emissions systems are reserved for competition, off-road or export vehicles; on road vehicles the right path is diagnosis and repair, as in our overview of AdBlue problems by make.
