Scenes

Automate your products and link them together

Create scenes for different situations. A pleasant Sunday afternoon drive, or a spirited run through the hairpins? In one, gentle blue interior lighting, a relaxed throttle response and comfortable suspension with no loud exhaust note; in the other, exactly the opposite: red lighting, an aggressive sound, a direct throttle and firm suspension. You do not need to change car, just press a button.

The Scene function in our app lets you link your vehicle's buttons and states to every Maxhaust product. With it your phone stays in your pocket while you set the car up from the vehicle's own buttons. Your car responds intelligently and on its own to whatever you ask of it. Scenes can be created, changed and deleted as you please, and you can run several at once. A practical example: when you unlock the car, a preset scene can automatically switch on a Custom Sound or Active Sound profile. At the same time the Custom Sounds give you a warm welcome (see our videos on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok at MasterTuning Italia). Several functions can be assigned to the vehicle's buttons, which widens the control options. For example, pressing the ESP button twice changes profile, and pressing it four times switches the system off. Creating scenes in the app is remarkably simple. Once they are set up, the phone can stay at home and you can control the whole system comfortably with the car's existing controls.

With Custom Sounds you can add another feature to your active sound system that will surprise everyone. Combined with scene control, other sounds can be played as well as those from the app. For example, depending on the vehicle, you can set one sound to play when the car is unlocked and another when it is locked. Replace your car horn entirely with a train horn, or something else altogether. The possibilities are endless and the choice of sounds keeps growing. Our advanced remote servicing feature lets the work be done straight from your mobile device, over Bluetooth and the internet. No awkward cables to connect and no software to install on a laptop. Through the app we can analyse the vehicle data in real time, work on it and send you an update directly.

 

Updates All online

Stay up to date with the latest Bluetooth technology. With data transfer ten times faster than before, you can move firmware updates and sounds quickly and easily. Our sounds can be updated too, and they are constantly being developed further.

The diagnostic function helps when there is a problem and gives you the pointers that solve it. The app checks every connected product step by step. It tells you if your Bluetooth is off, or that no speaker is fitted, and more besides. Quick and straightforward.

Engine simulation
ShowRoom menu In ShowRoom mode you can simulate a drive, including changes of speed and gearshifts. You can also rev the engine while parked, standing outside the car, with the engine off and the doors locked. Perfect for the showroom, at trade fairs, or simply in your own garage or in a car park with friends: show off your Active Sound System without having to start the engine.
An interface that explains itself
Profile overview Keep track of your favourite sounds and create up to 16 profiles of your own. Every setting — volume, sound selection, rev adjustment and the rest — can be saved in a profile. Switch between profiles quickly and easily from the app or with the car's own buttons, such as the Comfort/Sport drive selector or the cruise control.  
Volume, your way
Volume menu  Each connected speaker can be adjusted on its own — DEEP SPEAKER, HIGH SPEAKER and VIBRATION SPEAKER. Across five separate points you can set the volume to get exactly the sound you want. If you need to, you can also reload the default settings.
What makes the engine turn
Revs (RPM) menu Here you can set your car's idle speed, shape how it behaves on the move and simulate a lumpy idle when standing still, rally-car style. You can also control the volume under load and set how sharply the throttle responds in relation to the sound.
Make your car roar on start-up
STARTER menu. Explore a wide choice of start-up sounds to shape the moment you fire the car up. The range runs from the rumble of a big engine to the distinctive, nostalgic note of a classic VW Beetle. You can also switch on the cold-start function, where the system holds 1,200 rpm for as long as you set, for a realistic cold start.
Sound even without a combustion engine
Electric driving menu Your combustion engine in electric mode. Revs can be simulated with or without gearshifts, much like an electric car. On hybrids the sound can be simulated in both electric and combustion modes. Fully electric vehicles use the E-Drive sound mode alone, to make the most of electric driving. In Hybrid E-Drive mode the number of gears can be set between 1 and 12.

BACKFIRE menu Our large sound library holds a variety of backfire sounds. Choose the one that gives your car its own character. You can also set the revs and the strength of the pops and bangs individually.
HISSES AND WHISTLES as the valve opens
BLOW-OFF
The system reproduces the blow-off valve exactly, even on a diesel that does not have one. The sound and the volume change with the revs, giving your car a note of its own. You choose whether you prefer it gentle or strong. It is a feature enthusiasts tend to love.

Layered sounds
Every engine or electronic sound is built from up to five layers, each reacting in its own way. Some respond to the revs or to braking, others to road speed. Depending on the throttle, we also generate a turbo whistle. With the layers you are in full control. Choose what you want to hear: each one can be switched on or off as you please, with a single tap.

Why fit new buttons when your car already has them?

Why use a separate remote when you can use the car's own controls?

‍ From the very start of developing our complete Maxhaust resonator kit,

our aim has been to fit the system seamlessly into your car.

With our app you can create several driving profiles and link them to particular buttons in the car. Depending on your specification, you can switch the sound on and off with the cruise control CANCEL button, or assign profiles to the drive mode buttons — Comfort, Auto, Dynamic — without changing what those buttons normally do. Enjoy complete control and flexibility, simply and safely, even while driving.

Where design meets sound

Developed for easy fitting and excellent sound, our engineers put everything into making compact speakers that sound real while taking up little room and going in easily.
The Deep Speaker , housed in a tough glass-fibre reinforced plastic casing, stands out for its solid, realistic sound and its considerable volume. Our pioneering housing design delivers authentic sound and realistic vibration, setting a new standard for sound quality.
L' High Speaker refines the sound. It produces the higher tones and gives the sound a striking, powerful edge. Backfires, pops and turbo sounds come through loud and sharp, which intensifies the realistic exhaust note of a supercar.
I Vibration Speaker use the bonnet panel to create sound and vibration through sound waves. This softens the characteristic metallic rattle of diesel engines while concentrating the sound at the front of the car. Connected to the interior ventilation intake, it gives a subtle, pleasant listening experience inside the cabin.

Electric and hybrid

For the engine sounds we simulate synthetic engine speed and gearshifts based on road speed and throttle position. From these figures we generate an authentic engine sound that gives you the experience of driving a combustion engine.

The sound module also holds a set of electronic sounds that point squarely at the future. 

Our software supports both fully electric and hybrid vehicles.

What the complete kit contains

It is the complete configuration for starting from scratch: it contains everything needed and costs less than the sum of the separate parts. If you are after the highest sound pressure, the Complete XXL kit adds a second Deep Speaker.

Fitting

MasterTuning is the official Maxhaust distributor for Italy: installation is booked at our centres, with the app and the sound maps set up as part of the fitting.

Frequently asked questions about Maxhaust resonator — complete kit

What is the difference between the complete kit and the complete XXL kit?

The complete kit has one Deep Speaker and one High Speaker; the XXL has two Deep Speakers plus the High Speaker, for higher sound pressure. The licences and electronics are the same.

Does the kit change the exhaust or the emissions?

No. The sound is reproduced by dedicated speakers and the exhaust system stays as it was: the system does not touch emissions or any engine parts.

Can the sound be turned off?

Yes, volume and mode are set from the app, right down to switching it off completely. With the system off the car sounds exactly as it did from the factory.

What does the Custom Sounds licence include?

It gives access to the custom sound library, on top of the basic Active Sound maps: you choose them from the app and change them whenever you like.

Will it work on my car?

The system reads the CAN bus, so compatibility depends on the model. As official Maxhaust distributors for Italy we check make, model and year before the order.
