The Stage 1 file developed by MasterTuning starts from €430 including VAT; Stage 2 and Stage 3 cost more because they need hardware changes and dedicated development. The real price depends on the control unit, the read method and the work involved.
The price in brief
| Level | What it includes | Where the gain is |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | Software only, on a standard car, without mechanical changes | Power and torque, throttle response |
| Stage 2 | Software plus parts (air filter, exhaust, intercooler) | Bigger gains, dedicated file |
| Stage 3 | Heavy preparation (larger turbo, injectors, etc.) | Tailor-made project, dyno |
For Stage 1 the list price starts from €430 including VAT. For Stage 2 and 3 a quote on the vehicle is needed: request it here with model and engine.
What affects the price
- Read method: via OBD it is quicker; on the bench or boot it needs removal and more time
- Type of control unit and protections present
- Stage requested and presence of mechanical modifications
- Development on the vehicle and road test
- Related services: initial diagnosis, fixing of errors, any cleaning
Why very low offers cost more
A generic file, copied from another "similar" car, is not developed on your engine: the risks are higher consumption, smoke, errors in memory and an engine stressed beyond its limits. Serious work includes the read, saving the original file, development, verification with a road test and the ability to go back.
How much you gain
On modern turbodiesels a Stage 1 gives roughly 15-30% more power and torque; similar values on turbo petrols, much less on naturally aspirated engines. The most evident gain is torque in the mid range. For your version see the vehicle database (over 17,000 vehicles).
What to check beforehand
- State of maintenance: oil, filters, clutch, turbo, DPF
- No stored errors
- That the original file is saved so you can go back
Legality and warranty
Modified power has implications for the vehicle registration document, insurance and warranty: we explain them in is ECU remapping legal?.
How MasterTuning works
We read the control unit, save the original, develop the file on the vehicle and verify the result with a road test and a check of real parameters. If the vehicle is not in the right condition, we say so beforehand. Centres across Italy: find the nearest.
How MasterTuning helps
We read the real values of the control unit, not just the code: that is the difference between finding the faulty component and replacing parts by trial and error. After the repair we clear the error and check that it does not come back. Find the nearest centre or contact us.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Stage 1 remap cost?
The MasterTuning Stage 1 file starts from €430 including VAT. The final cost depends on the control unit, the read method and the work needed.
What is the difference between Stage 1, 2 and 3?
Stage 1 is software only on a standard car; Stage 2 also involves parts such as filter, exhaust and intercooler; Stage 3 is a heavy preparation with larger hardware.
Why do some remaps cost very little?
Often they are generic files, not developed on the vehicle and without verification. The risk is consumption, smoke and errors.
How much do you gain with a remap?
On modern turbodiesels 15-30% in power and torque in Stage 1; less on naturally aspirated engines. Values per version are in the vehicle database.
Can you go back to the original software?
Yes, if the original file is saved before the work: it is a check to insist on.
